The Garden

In Gardone Riviera, the André Heller Botanical Garden—rich in rare plants and species—is one of the most fascinating and unusual parks in Italy. It’s the result of the imagination and creativity of two extraordinary individuals who, though separated by   a century, poured into it their love for botany, their passion for travel and distant lands, and their cultural vision.
The garden’s amazing geographical microcosm is thanks to the naturalist, while the stunning pieces of contemporary art—perfectly integrated into the greenery—are the work of the artist.
Among more than 3,000 plants and flowers recreating different environments (from Alpine to Japanese), visitors will find water features, lily ponds connected by a web of pathways, and hidden spots where you can sit and soak in nature. Along the way, you'll come across works by major artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Auguste Renoir, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Manolo Valdés.
Today, the legacy continues under the careful stewardship of Jovanka and Hans Porsche who, together with André Heller, ensure that the Botanical Garden remains a sanctuary of inspiration and wonder.
