The Andrè Heller Foundation, located in Gardone Riviera on Lake Garda, welcomes this ambitious project: an international exhibition of contemporary art jewellery set in the Foundation’s wonderful Botanic Garden.
This inspiring environment with its 3,000 species of plants and 35,000 visitors each year was created in 1901 by Arturo Hruska, dentist of the tsars, the Savoia family and other important historical personalities; it has been run by Andrè Heller, the Austrian poet/artist, since 1988.
The garden will host a small but comprehensive display on the theme, a selection of about 100 exhibits.

Today art jewellery shows a large number of trends and aesthetic currents. It is generally identified with the works of artists/goldsmiths with a complex background balanced between traditional
master crafts and avant-garde research. Therefore the jewel maintains its own nature and at the same time becomes an experimental work of art.
Italian contemporary artists in particular have combined many different, creative ideas and completely changed the concept behind the conventional jewel. This has led to the creation of a new jewel, free from decorative obligations / elements and able to become a work of art in itself.

The exhibition has been coordinated by two organizations that have passionately joined forces for the promotion of art jewellery. agc, the Italian contemporary jewellery association, is one of the most active in Europe, carrying out activities aimed at giving value to contemporary jewellery on a national and international level. Together with the newly formed Associazione Culturale Maurer Zilioli – Contemporary Arts, the aim is that of qualifying contemporary jewellery by integrating it in the vaster world of the Arts.

With this exhibition we intend to introduce the theme of the research jewel (art jewel) in the delightful surroundings of André Heller’s garden, where visitors will be able to enjoy the sight of sculptures and works of famous artists. The show will offer a stimulating and nourishing atmosphere fitting to the unexpected and naïve idea of an extraordinary jewel – a surprise and feast for the senses.
